May 31, 2013 18:49 | #2015 I got mine enabled by hooking it up to my PC and running the EOS Utility. Select Camera setting/Remote shooting, select Lens aberration correction under shooting menu. Select the box for the 40mm, and ok. DavidWatts wrote in post #15985039 Trying out my new Shorty Forty that came today. Works well with a 36mm extension tube for a 2-inch distance semi-macro dandelion shot. Nice sharp little lens. Only nit is there's not much to hold on to with my left hand to stabilize the camera while shooting. ![]() ![]() I also discovered I already had a 52 > 55mm step up ring from an old camere which allows me to utilize some old unused filters: Hoya R72 IR, two circular polarizers, a set of close-up lenses, yellow, red, haze. Gonna try some of those soon. Now, something I thought my 5D3 new 1.2.1 firmware would deal with is the in-camera lens aberration corrections. No deal. The lens is a newer serial number "91311xxxxx" version, so the lens should already have the new firmare of its own. I get the below screen on my 5D3... ![]() New camera, new lens, newest firmwares, so I'm puzzled. Anyone know of a quick in-cam fix for this? I do have the latest DPP and the DLO module for the 40, so I can always use that to correct in post, but that's some additional steps I don't really want to go through unless I have to. 1D X Mark II, 7D: EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS Mark II, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II, 24-105 f/4L, 100 2.8L, 40mm 2.8, 50mm 1.4, Tokina 11-16 2.8, 2 600EX-RT, ST-E3-RT.
