Hello guys, I just purchased this screen protector and was pretty excited because there is not many on the market yet. I received it and was impressed by both the packaging and quality of the screen protector. That is until I attempted to install it. I was following the steps as per the install guide and noticed that upon removing Side A, it came off and left a bit of residue which was very easily removed. However as I placed the protector on my camera, I noticed that it just slid from side to side. That is when I got closer to inspect it, and noticed that there was still a protective layer on the screen guard. I attempted to remove it carefully but since the tab that was supposed to remove it was no longer on the protector it did not come off cleanly. It left streaks from removing it and you can notice them very much after installing it. I contacted B&H and they quickly sent me a replacement. However, I had the exact same problem!!!!! I am kind of bummed out because it is very nice. Before you say oh maybe its user error, well i have installed many screen protectors in the past, since my very first Iphone, to multiple Ipads. Now if this is user error, i cant for the life of me thnk of how to get that layer of protection on, without damaging the screen protector.

This is just a heads up as I know some of you like screen protectors and some do not. Ill update my thread once I hear from Vello. In the meantime I would avoid this particular screen guard in general. I think its a manufacturing error on the protective screen removers.

I judy bought a Vello Ultra-thin glass optical protector for my new 7d but I haven't installed it yet. Is this the same protector you installed on your 6d? If so, what would you advise? Thanks!

I just received an email from Vello and they said to return it to B&H, and they will look into this matter to see if it's isolated or global. So depending in where you bought it, I'd try it and hopefully it's isolated only to the 6D as it was just released.

Thanks! I just bought mine and B&H as well. I'll give it a try and hope for the best. One question though, can you remove it without damaging the camera screen?

Yea it comes off cleanly, but you have to wiggle the edges.

I installed my Vello Ultrathin Optical Glass screen protector on my new 7d this evening and it went on perfectly. It's the best screen protector I've ever used. I suspect you got a bad one. Hopefully Vello will come through for you. Good luck!

I installed one on my NEX 7. Very easy install, no problems whatsoever.
