A few notes about Laurel Caverns and this trip: This was my first photo trip into a cave, arguably a place where photos are not supposed to be taken (no lights )... Laurel Caverns is a 3.14mi sandstone/limestone cave that follows the path of the mountain it is in (about a 35deg grade). All equipment was hauled 1.5mi in (one way) with an elevation difference of 450ft. Most of the floor is break down, when its not break down it usually a crawl. There are almost no formations (the good ones have been stolen or broken before the cave became protected. My only lights in the photos are a few small LEDs and a 430EX flash... How did I do?
First photo, my guide demostrating how cold (53F) and humid (98%) the cave air is. Bulb mode, ISO 400, one single flash fired behind her. f10
Second flash, 'Gulf of California'. LED in the pool, one on each side, 10s, f4.5, ISO 400
