Some really fine images here.
The G1 X just seems to be on a different plane than every other compact camera I've used. It seems to have a brightness and smoothness that may not always be evident, but makes itself known pretty regularly. There's a certain life to the images that puts it into a different category from the other point & shoots. This is often demonstrated in the images posted in this forum. I think the ability to reach a shallow depth of field, the lack of noise, the full-range sharpness and the lively color consistently put it in a class by itself. I just hope that Canon continues to push in this direction, and doesn't abandon the experiment. It may not be a camera for everyone, but it's the one I've been looking for.
