I am going on a 10-day mission trip this summer to a Native American Indian reservation. I am hoping to take quite a few pictures while there, and though I am prepared to do this in my day-to-day life, I don't have enough memory cards to go the full 10 days, and I don't plan on taking my computer. I shoot a 5D Mark II, and I use 16 GB cards (2) right now. I would love other POTNers recommendations on good, affordable cards. Right now I use SanDisk Extreme, but I am open to any brand that is reliable.

Critique and advice are always appreciated, even when it's brutally honest.

I just purchased this: Lexar 16GB CompactFlash Memory Card Professional 800x - 2-Pack for $69.99
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …GB_Pro_Compact_Flash.html (external link)

The 32GB cards are a little cheaper per GB but I would rather use 16GB cards. I have a fear of losing too many shots if something went wrong with the larger cards.

I use Lexar Professional and SanDisk Extreme and never a problem with either.

I've been using a mix of Lexar, Kingston, and Transcend for a few years with no troubles from any of them. I do keep them in a hard-side fitted, waterproof container made JUST for the cards. The internet shopping sites are full of 'em...

Which Res are you visiting?

have a good trip!

I picked up a Delkin card (external link) about a year ago, and have been very happy with it. It performs no differently than my Sandisk. It handles the 8fps on my 7D just fine up to about 15-20 shot in M-Raw

+1. I have been using these, with no problems. And, you cannot beat the price.

I just got a 2 pack of the 32GB cards, good price for one of the top brands.

I've used all sorts of different brands, but most of mine are SanDisk and Lexar and never had any issues with a CF card. I can't say the same for my SD cards, all are top brands and I've had issues with every single one of my newer larger ones.
