I'm glad people like #2! That one is getting printed big for my photo room. I actually was able to put the shift feature of my 24 TSE to use for this shot. I stood on a chair and using live view plus full shift left (up as the camera is portrait orientation) I was able to get a dead on downward angle with no feet in the frame. The nurses thought I looked like a wierdo probably but it's a unique shot you don't see much of in people's newborn albums.

I echo everything already said but am most impressed with how well you handled the typically awful lighting at the hospital. Gave me fits when my son was born.

Yeah hospitals are a lighting nightmare! I tried natural at first with a fluorescent WB, didn't work. Then I tried gelling a flash to match the lights and balance the two, which also didn't work well. Finally I just started squashing all the natural light with my flash and trying to mimic sunlight through a window by bouncing and diffusing with the hospital curtains.

4 & 5 for me.
