I am considering getting Black rapid sport for my 5d mark III + 70-200 IS II/200L. Will it do the job? Are there any better ones (brand wise)? Also, would you recommend the "sport" version over the "classic"?

Thanks.

I prefer the sport because of the under arm keeper strap.

With the heavy zooms I use a regular strap. (just to much weight with the BR.

I own both of the BR straps and prefer the sport as it keeps the strap from sliding around. These are the only straps I use and have had no issues with my MIII and 70-200 hanging from either strap.

I have the RS-7 and speed carry fs-pro, and I prefer the fs-pro when using the 5D3 or 1D4 with the 70-200.
It gives me two connections (one for the tripod collar and one smaller to the camera) which makes it more stable and not dangling around constantly if I don't hold camera.
And when I want to switch lens for a moment, the 70-200 stays on the strap and the little connection to the body I turn to a safety hand strap just in case. It won't carry the weight for long but it saved my body from falling once.

I'd recommend the Luma Cinch 2 over the BR sport. I've compared my Luma Cinch 1 against a BR Sport; the Cinch is better built, better designed, and more comfortable.

I wear a cotton carrier vest for a 2 camera setup, I will have a 1Dx with a tele-zoom or telephoto on the front for action and a 5D3 with a short zoom or standard prime in the side holster.

I use the Op-Tech "Utility Strap" with the Utility Strap Swivel connectors. It has a long, wide, stretchy neoprene strap that is very comfortable and makes the weight of my 5D3 and 70-200 II seem much lighter than it is. I wear the strap over one should "messenger" style and let the lens hang down at my side similar to using a BlackRapid style strap. The strap is easily adjustable if I need it to be shorter.

Carry Speed beats BR on built in features and the shoulder strap is much more comfortable. I wish my dual sling had the same shoulder straps(I no longer see it on their site so maybe it's getting an update).

I do the same thing when I'm out with a Telephoto on the strap and a UWA in a pouch. I bought an extra ball mount head(that I put on the second/camera support) and mounts plates so I don't have to ever do anything more than connect the appropriate ball mount head to mount plate.

I love the very minimal Leash (external link) from Peak Design for my 5D + 70-200 combo. I would only recommend this for sling style carry. It's very uncomfortable for regular neck strap style carry, but it is versatile enough to use both ways (especially with lighter lenses).

I've been happy with the Black Rapid sport, but there are other good options. I am going for light weight and often carrying an other body/lens.

BR Sport is my choice for 1Dx and 70-200 (or other lenses.)

There are other choices but your best bet is anything but a neck strap. :)

I tried BR sport in B&H and loved it. My only worry is will it handle something like a 200L which is 6 lbs and 5d Mark III.

you need to look at the carryspeed fs pro strap. has a second connection specifically made for telezooms

I use this baby. Sturdy, able to clip to my backpack, slides around my neck easily.
