Windy & Cloudy killed my people shoots today so I just broke out the 70-200 f/2.8 and shot some baseball with it. Here are my favorites from the day...

Hate that I cut his foot off... but his expression and eyes make it a favorite of mine...

Great stuff! The frozen ball shot is amazing! Trying to figure out how you froze ball but still got motion in the players.

Thanks everyone!

mollicaa: It's not so much motion in the players as that they are just out of focus. I shot at a high shutter speed with my aperture at 2.8, then focused on some grass about half way between pitcher & batter... then rapid fire for awhile hoping to catch one right in the middle. If I had a fancier camera that could take more pics per second, it would be easier, but still doable with my 60d. :)

Great shots, the spike that's holding down the pitching rubber scares me a little bit.

photomommy: Don't recall off hand... but I know it was wide open at f/2.8 and probably on aperture priority mode so whatever was a proper exposure... 1/1600 range I'd think.
