The first two are heavily cropped, almost 100%.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

What's a good recommended collar for this lens(besides the OEM for $150)?

Why do you need a collar? It is a pretty light lens. But if you must, this 3rd party one seems to have reasonable reviews:

Although it's light I read it can be off balanced when put on a tripod. Thanks for the link.

Just purchased this lens last night from a fellow POTN member, can't wait to get it in the mail! I had the non-IS version before and it was a stunning lens, but sold it due to it's lack of ability to shoot in low-light. Looking forward to shooting portraits with it. :)

I finally got mine! I was a bit afraid that I would have to send it for calibration since I bought it used and it's a pretty old copy... ends up being the most accurate focus and sharp lens I've ever owned.

I'm proud of my new baby :D Wife seems not to care much for it though. ;)

I didn't look at the meritline 70-200 F4 collar but I bought an all-metal collar on ebay from seller imagerays_beyond for $14.00 and free shipping from TX. The fit is rock solid tight
