A couple of pics from a local park.
It's so nice not to have our usual rain and be able to go out and take some pics!:D

Beautiful scenes. I remember living in Oregon for a short while and I hated all the rainy days, but we have had so much drought here in the Texas Oklahoma region that we would love to have one long rainy summer.

The coastline in Oregon is one of the most beautiful places I have been to. I'd love to take the G1x and snap some pics, weather allowing of course!:D It's always been a crapshoot with the weather when we've driven down there.

Hi

Just got myself one of these cameras (Canon G1X) purely by looking at the fantastic pictures in this thread. I am going to use it for an upcoming holiday and was wondering if you could tell me the best setting for the camera to get results like the ones here. I would like to shoot in jpeg setting rather then raw if possible simply due to the fact I would like to upload photos to a web page for family and friends to view when we are away and wont have a laptop for conversion only my Samsung Note 10.1

Many Thanks

I say get a circular polarizer for the best results.

Y'all are getting some great pics with this camera! Nice work!

Took this series for the panorama on a walk to the back 40 the other day, with a 100lb Yellow Lab fighting me all the way and on the leash when I took these. He did pretty good though, but we didn't make it to the tank as there were momma cows with babies around the tank...not a good combination with an overly enthusiastic young male dog! :)

Some really fine images here.
The G1 X just seems to be on a different plane than every other compact camera I've used. It seems to have a brightness and smoothness that may not always be evident, but makes itself known pretty regularly. There's a certain life to the images that puts it into a different category from the other point & shoots. This is often demonstrated in the images posted in this forum. I think the ability to reach a shallow depth of field, the lack of noise, the full-range sharpness and the lively color consistently put it in a class by itself. I just hope that Canon continues to push in this direction, and doesn't abandon the experiment. It may not be a camera for everyone, but it's the one I've been looking for.
DD

A mix of rain, fog and last minute sun shine last night just before sundown...
