I have had PSE 8 for a few years, but I was at Costco yesterday, and bought PSE 11. Is it a value added upgrade over PSE 8? Should I also get Lightroom?
Thanks,
Rick

Unless there are specific features in 11 that you need I would have bought LR instead. That, of course, presupposes that you shoot in RAW as LR is a vastly better RAW development package than the cut down version of ACR that ships with PSE. Dan Marchant

tonylong ...winded ![]() More info | Jun 15, 2013 18:19 | #6 Another thing to be aware of when it comes to comparing Lightroom with Elements is the fact that with Lightroom, photo organization became a top priority. Elements has the basic Organizer but the LR organizer is pretty feature-packed and you can't just ignore it like you can with Elements! That fact irritates some folks, although once you get accustomed to working in LR, then the organizational features can be very handy. Of course, that's all alongside of the powerful Raw processor in LR, and so if you shoot Raw LR would be a real plus, but I'd still keep the upgraded Elements to do the kind of work that Elements can do but LR can't! I have been told that Lightroom besides being a better organizer does a great job when post processing B&W, as opposed to PSE. Rick S.
