Next time your lens arrives via the Big Brown Truck, it may not be their fault that it's damaged.
This is kind of humourous, but disturbing at the same time.
The word "fragile" just doesn't exist in some parts of the world.

Stuff packed properly for shipping shouldn't have much of an issue with that kind of treatment. However, that kind of treatment shouldn't have happened in the first place. Dude managed to not drop at least one package (thereby making more work for himself) maybe 6 times, if that? Why on earth was he not bucket chaining it with a coworker from the get go? They would have been done in far less time...

What's the point? There is no surprise here.

I was once told by UPS that anything shipped by UPS should be packed in such a way it can withstand a drop of four feet.

Did you really think that each individual package was hand-carried up the ramp on the back of the truck and gently placed in the corner of the truck? Packages are thrown. Everybody knows that.

Coming back from Afghanistan we had to load and unload the cargo plane we were riding on. It was horrible with hundreds of boxes, luggage and duffel bags. We had to go fast too. Lots of bag throwing. Could hear some crunching once in a while on some of the soft bag/boxes.

Yes, but did 2/3 of the stuff fall out of the plane the first time you tried to put it on?

This is a little more extreme than normal, but packages are often thrown during delivery transfer.

Heard from the pilot while waiting for a SW airline take off

"Sorry for the delay folks, the machine that usually crushes your luggage is broken so we have to crush it all by hand."
