70-200 II in-stock for $1699.

600EX-RT was in-stock for $373, but I missed it! Away from my desk and by the time I came back it was sold out.

What's the chance we see any good lenses come back in stock?

I'm in the market for an 85L.

I'd say the odds are about the sames as someone capturing a razor sharp image of Bigfoot in the wild or Arnold Schwarzenegger wining an Oscar for best actor...

Anyone ask for a "rain-check"? That would be too good to be true!

There's actually a pretty good deal on some of the refurb lenses if you buy a camera. I just purchased a T4i 18-135 package and got the 70-300 for 50% off. So I got a great deal on a couple of lenses, but now I have an extra T4i to sell off. This forum is going to put me in the poor house!

Why is it that whenever the 70-200 F2.8 IS II is on sale for $1,699 (refurbished), that it is out of stock, but when it is in stock, the price jumps up a couple hundred dollars? Do they ever really sell any for the lower price?

i think you got relationship wrong. when they lower the price, this causes people to buy it, and therefore you see it out of stock. some of the high demand ones only last seconds when they are put on sale. the reason the interval is so short is because people get alerts when these things go on sale through a 3rd party website.

Call it impulse purchase - picked up a 70-200L II.

Might have to sell couple lenses to make up for this impulse.

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.
