Just bought this lens from a member today and practiced my handheld telephoto on the way to work. This lens is stupid sharp, and the 2.8 II is suppose to be sharper

F2.8 has smoother bokeh though. Regardless, this lens produces magical images. I don't think I will EVER sell mine.

(And I agree...this lens is very sharp....but the f2.8 mk II is probably it's equal...but I like the weight of this one better as I carry my gear a looong way!) +1, I fully agree. I walk for miles and this lens has never bothered me. I have said this before but the weight of this lens+15-85+35F2 IS equals to F2.8 alone. That by itself is a deal breaker for me.

I never knew that Telephotos could make great semi-landscape lenses. Lately this combo with my S35 is perfect for my walking around. So happy with this lens Aspiring Photographer. Flickr
