I use a lot of PCB modifiers and the foldable softboxes have a Balcar removable adapter from the speedring. I replace it with this item: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ails&Q=&sku=854850&is=REG (external link) so that I can mount the light modifier to the Cheetah Speed Pro Bracket.

Thanks.
That's the one I have that was used to mount the foldable on the Speed Pro bracket in the picture above. Couldn't remember where I got it. :-)

Thanks. Found it and it's on the way! Calumet also sells one - at twice the price, plus their shipping charge is ridiculous.

Before someone asks.

This was shot with one of my Canon 5DIIIs. And YES it is with a Cells-II as the trigger.
More accurately a Cells-IIc prototype.

The "c" is significant. Its the way Cheetah (Edward) and Godox plan to differentiate the Cells II trigger that has been updated to work with Canon 2012 cameras. I haven't tested it with 1Dx or EOS-M or 6D but I expect that it will work since all of them work with 600EX-RT speedlites.

So, good news for those with the 2012 cameras. A Cells-IIc will be available soon.

BTW, I use the CL-Tx to change power, its a comfortable process for me since I do just about the same thing with Cyber Commander for Einsteins, with a CST on the camera to fire them.

So is Cells-IIc prototype not available yet? Is it backward compatible with a 1D4?

It should be backward compatible. My understanding, relative to Canon 600EX-RT speedlite compatibility with the 2012 cameras is that Canon had to fiddle with the firmware to get all the 600EX-RT stuff to work. That apparently impacted how the Cells-II interacted with the newer cameras. I doubt that they would have broken the earlier compatibility.

I'll put it on an Xsi I used to test the earlier unit to confirm.

I expect that Edward will post something once he's confirmed availability. We all know how reluctant he is to make promises he can't keep.

Stay tuned.....

6-28-2009 first Cheetah Stand C8 sold to Robert (TMR design) on line.
We mark that day as Cheetah Birthday.
Cheetah will be 4 years old in few more days……I think we definitely will give CHEETAH a party on that day…..

I would like to use this opportunity to thank POTN and all the members on this forum. You have given me lots of good suggestions and feedback. That's how I can keep improving Cheetah.

Cheers and Happy Shooting!

The one thing you could add is your own light meter with remote triggering that would be great.

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy!!!!! I'm glad I shan't be working in CheetahStand despatch dept in late July. Someone is going to be VERY busy - and quite rightly so. Someone has already been very busy getting all those ideas together, workable and shipped. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a queue right round the block on 26th July!

The only addition I can think of at this moment is a non-conductive clip-on cover for the spare battery. Sort of like the ones supplied with Canon LP-E6 batteries only bigger (obviously).

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

What would make metering easier with the CL-TX and RX system would be to have the ability to trigger an individual group where as right now it is all or nothing. You can set the flash output for 16 individual groups but you cannot test fire that individual group to meter it. What the CL-TX needs is a switch so you can select "ALL" or "GROUPS". That way when you press the "test" button or trigger the transmitter you can fire all flash units or just the group, you have selected, that you are making the power adjustment for.

Happy Birthday Cheetah Stand and thanks for all the great products and service over the last 4 years!

EXCELLENT suggestion, Randall! (as is the battery protective cap, Phil).

I agree.
The best feature, in my opinion, with the Cyber Commander, is ability to first set each light, then fire them as a group and change the power on the whole group together.

That permits setting up a lighting ratio/scheme for one F stop and then changing the power to permit shooting at a different F stop without changing each light individually.

Sounds goofy, but its nice when shooting products, portraits or fashion.

I also appreciate that adding that capability turns the Cl-Tx into a completely different tool with associated value.

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEETAH STAND

I think what the Cyber Commander can do is a little bit too much to ask of the CL-TX but just having the ability to test fire an individual group rather than all flashes at the same time would be a big benefit in metering and probably not that hard to incorporate into a future model.

The problem with different radio trigger systems is that of a standardization in the naming convention. In other words what Cyber Commander calls a "frequency" the CL-TX/RX system calls a "channel" and then what Cyber Commander calls a "channel" the CL-TX/RX system calls a "group" and what Cyber Commander calls a "group" is multiple channels being triggered together for test metering or for different lighting setups all of which is really cool but like I said "a little bit too much to ask for" with the CL-TX/RX system.

Rand,
You're right about the confusion in naming etc. I wasn't asking for the CL-Tx to emulate the CC. More a request that we can set individual lights for power then select all for metering the composite and then changing power for the group from each lights current value. i.e. all lights up 1/3 or down 2/3.
