...and it works very well. It folds back against and around the lens so that it's barely longer than the lens, and extends to shade and protect. A few pics indicate that it's JUST the right length for this focal length.

Fuji X-H2 w/SmallRig all-around L-plate.. Fugi lenses in 10-24/4, 16-55/2.8, 70-200, and 33/1.4, Canon TS-Es in 24/3.5 and 50/2.8, and Viltrox 75/1.2.. Gitzo GT-3533S Systematic tripod with leveler and Rogeti geared head.

I am not really allowed to use and change m'y wife's 100D+400STM ... but she allowed me to shoot a few pictures handhold while being in a restaurant last saturday :lol:
So no RAW shooting, but I could at least make some PP at home on my pictures ...

Really, it's a quite convincing lens, and particularly because there is a proxy/macro mode which is missing on the 50F1,8II ...

It seems there are quite often some issue with unusable AF untill we plug the 40mm off the 100D and replug it :confused:

Send it in to Canon service and they will fix it, it's on the warranty.

Since picking up the 85 1.8 I honestly haven't used this 40mm much. Although I needed something a bit shorter for the fireworks and this did the trick perfectly. Haven't shot fireworks much so any C&C welcome.
