I did the submission process via the website as well.
After I submitted, I just sat back for a couple of days of waiting (more like 5-6 days).
It was a pleasant surprise to see the e-mail saying that my upgrade was approved and within 60 minutes had 2 additional e-mails that confirmed a $0.00 Order and a new Serial Number for LR5.
It worked and I am very happy as well.

Allright, just submitted my form. Guess I'll cross my fingers.

Any pointers anyone? I just tried 3 times with three different chat agents and they all turned me down.

Dont go through the chat, just submit your form, the adobe guidelines say you have to buy within 30 days of lr5 being announced, if you did you will get your upgrade.

Also lr4 works with windows vista, lr5 does not it requires windows 7 or 8.

I purchased LR4 on 4\20\13, did the chat thing with an Adobe rep on Saturday, got the approval, and just got the download link today.

Question: I had just installed 4.4 and had not really edited any pictures, now that LR5 is installed can I just uninstall the 4.4 with no repercussions?

I am a longtime DPP user, bought the Laura Shoe training videos and am going to give LR a real shot.

There are some bugs with the 5.0 version, most notably in some cases exporting a resized photo "forgets" your edits. I wouldn't delete your version 4.4 just yet ...

So you can keep both installed? I haven't really started to learn lightroom yet. I have access to all lynda videos, and i'm worried there wont be as much material for 5 as 4.

That dont sound good, Thanks for the heads up.
If they receive many complaints, I would think they would address that immediately. As that is a serious hicup.

There is only just a few upgrades from 4.4, so anything you learn about 4 will apply to 5.
You can utube the 5 favorite things about LR5 version, and just add it to what you will be taught about LR 4 from Lynda videos.

I purchased LR4 on May 28 from Newegg. I requested the updgrade on Monday and it was approved today. I only had to provide a copy of my receipt.

So I received the below response seven days ago, but whenever I go to my order history and click on link to the purchase order it tells me I have no order history.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Adobe.

We have placed and approved your product order. The order is currently processing and the download will be available in your Adobe account in 24-48 hours.

Do I just contact www.adobe.com/support/contact (external link) to get this resolved or is there a different link to talk to a customer representative?

Did you purchase it as a "guest" from Newegg, or did you sign in to purchase? If the latter, you can just go in and print out another invoice. Don't you have an invoice in your email too?

So I received the approval email back on the 18th but still can't download. Contacted Adobe and got this message after a lengthy 'chat':

"I see your order is not completely processed, in this case I will forward this to our relevant team they will check on this and you will be informed within 2-3 business days via email."

So still waiting.
