Some awesome shots in this thread, here is one from me.
We don't get as severe weather as North America but I was pretty close to this. Sigma 17-50@17mm.
Bureau of Meteorology are using this in their 2014 weather calendar.

Thanks, it was at Maloneys Beach near Batemans Bay. Kevin has more wind than this thing:D

Love the weather shots. They are probably one of my favorite things to look at. Hopefully once I figure out how to use my new camera, I can start posting a few :)

We just had a pretty big storm come through, right at sunset. Everything from grape sized hale, to continuous thunder/lightning and a torrential downpour.

The whole atmosphere was electric and an orange/green light filled the sky. Here's one shot I took just before it started raining buckets.

The Shelf Cloud/ Gust Front of a severe thunderstorm packing lots of lightning, heavy rain, and 70 mph winds. This was moving very fast probably 50-60 mph at least, I got these pictures and 4 minutes later the gust front hit.
