I like most things about the shot, but if you want something to work on: think about light falloff. The people in the front are strongly lit, but the people in the back are much darker. If you move your lights back, and shoot at a higher power, the relative distance of front row -> flash :: back row -> flash will be closer to 1:1, so they'll be more evenly lit.

Otherwise, it's a great looking group shot- which isn't easy to pull off!

Here's some shot I took before I sold this lens...looking at these pics makes me kind of miss having it. I just picked up the 17-40, maybe Ill buy this again in the near future. I really enjoyed this lens for indoor events shots

great shots in here, just wondering, is it worth the extra dollars to get the 16-35 over the 17-40L? I am looking for something wider to use on both the 5DII and especially the 1DIII, not sure if this is the lens

If you don't need the extra stop up, then go for the 17-40L

^^ I thought the 16-35mm is cheaper than the 17-40mm. Thus I would say go with the cheap one.
