Typically I like to get lower, Most people stand, and have the same angle, so I like to get a different angle :)

500 f/4 on a 7D. The effective focal length is then 800mm ;)

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to let gully_stad know that I used this exact series as a guideline to get some shots at Road America myself. With all of the new catch fences in place now, the angles are a little off, but you can still manage the "over the hill" shot on T6 if you are not crowded out by "media" vests :)

Nice shots by the way! I follow you on 500px as well!
