Ya, his review really, really makes me want a 1Dx now though. :( I love my 5mk3, but after reading that... ohy, I could and would make use of a 1Dx. That will have to wait a while though. I'd love to do one of his work shops too. I bet he'd be a blast!

I am sure it is here but I searched and I can't find the best way to set automatic selection of a higher cross type AF point in the Portrait position?
I mean I want to use Center AF point for the focus in landscape position but a higher (near the middle of top half) in portrait mode and they switch as I switch the camera position.

Just hold the camera in portrait mode and set the AF point. The camera will remember the position next time you rotate it.

I almost never use the DOF preview button, so I've set it up to momentarily change to AI servo focussing mode so that if a subject starts moving unexpectedly, you can catch them just by holding down DOF preview while shooting.
