I was really hoping that there was a good ND app for the Apple line...I wanted one for the iPad...but the Exposure Calculator for Android is by far better than the ones available for Apple products. It lets you fill in all the settings, and then it gives you an estimate on the exposure needed. It helped me learn how to do the math in my head.

Yeah, its a great ap for sure. And...its free!

I have to admit I did not really know what I was doing so just played with the settings until I got something half decent. A lot of work to be done with regards to practice in the future I believe.

A 9 or 10 stop filter was used on this? A 9 or 10 stop ND filter usually eats too much light for lightning bolts to show up for me. The actual lightning is so fast, that the light doesn't have enough time to register in the exposure. I also get exposure times of much more than 10 seconds when shooting with ND filters at night. Nice lightning shot, though.

Hello Mark -

Thanks for making me take a third look - my error, I had a lower value filter - post is removed.
