Amazing find ... and it seems it has been repainted ... used to be white :

Check it out in action:
http://youtu.be/wMo_fjzp-7g (external link)

When the above video was made it was powered by an LS1 V8 engine instead of the original 3.5 liter V8 from Lamborghini ... does it still have the GM 346ci LS1 engine?

Initially it had an MR2 derived manual gearbox but later on an automatic gearbox from a Camry was mounted ... not too much original Lamborghini parts left, but it does look really special!

I think the Jalpa was made mid 80's and was considered a poor mans Lamborghini. Kind of like boxster is to Porsche. I think.......

The Lamborghini Jalpa was built between 1981 and 1988 and reached a production number of 410 units during those 7 years, it was in fact the 'entry level' V8 Lamborghini next to the V12 Countach ... the US MSRP in 1982 was $58,000 with the V12 Countach LP500S was listed at $99,000 that same year ... almost double.

You can consider the Lamborghini Jalpa being the grandfather of the current Gallardo V10 ... just like the Countach is an ancestor of the Aventador.

No problem at all.
