Looks great.

I agree! Still reading the preview, but liking what I see so far. Some pretty nice new technology in this camera, and the price is good (i.e. $1199 body).

Ugh, yet again they stuck with the crappy button layout of the 60D... Was hoping they would revert to the days of the 40D/50D. :/

I have to give Canon a "wow" for this (on paper). I've been critical of them for not stepping up with any innovation recently. The 70D appears to go in the other direction. Hopefully it's performance delivers on what we see in the specs and read in DPRs teasing preview.

Someone wised up on the MA. The removal of software features for the sake of differentiation has always sickend me about Canon.

kind of hard to put the buttons on the bottom, with the flip out screen...

I can't wait to see some sample photos from this new sensor! AF microadjustment, 20 MP, and high ISO performance are just a few of the things I was looking for in a new crop frame camera.

It's too bad Canon won't spill the beans on whether they're working on a new 7D II or not. Specs-wise the 70D looks overall better than the 7D to me (the proof will be in the pictures of course). When the 70D starts shipping I'll face the dilemma of either jumping on the 70D or waiting for a 7D II...which may or may not be worth waiting for. The 70D price makes a strong argument in its favor.

I also read at Canon Rumors something about this "new sensor" allowing for far cleaner ISO than we're used to seeing as well as 5x faster AF, also because of this new 20MP sensor. I'm a 7D owner waiting for the new 7D. I'd like to see some reviews on this camera. I'm really not thrilled about the flip out screen, and button layout/ergonomics. It'd be nice to see the same level of build construction we were used to seeing with the XXD line-up pre-60D (10D-50D). I'm getting fed up with waiting for the 7D II though. If reviews prove that IQ is significantly improved, I might sell my 7D and get used to the controls until a new 7D comes out. SIGH.... come on Canon. Give us what we WANT. FFS....

The 7d2 will be a crop version of the 5d3 w/61 AF points and 9fps.

With all the features on the new 70D, could this possibly mean the end of the 7D?

I think the 7D came out prior to the 60D, and should have been the next one up for a revamp.

Just wondering.
