Foxtrot by Genesis was an awesome album cover, as was Yes's Tales from Topographical Oceans.

+1 for Roger Dean's YES album covers!

ELP's Brain Salad Surgery is also pretty epic.

Yes wins my vote. While all their covers were impressive, Tales From Topographic Oceans and Yessongs are probably my favorites.

This thread makes me happy. So many of my favorites in here and I was born in the 80s.

Huge huge Pink Floyd fan here, Animals being very close to my heart.

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean to ignore or insult your granny's passing. May she RIP. I was just referring to the (good) music lovers in here.

Don't worry about it. I think my goal was met: getting others to talk about a time when life was simple, enjoyable, a time when childhood meant innocence and curiosity and when the music didn't just reach your ears but it also STRUCK A CORD IN YOUR HEART!

That's ok. Please don't judge me either...I've always been a big fan of the Monkees.

Now that I've come out of the closet, I feel so much better now. ;)

Aerosmith, Toys in the Attic strikes a chord. Both in the cover and the music. In fact, I still listen to it.
Also, I have always had a preference for Pink Floyd, Rush, Led Zeppelin and the like.

OK, I'll bite. A couple of my favorite albums at the time were Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced", and Cream's "Disraeli Gears". And my favorite album cover was Blind Faith's (anyone from that time frame would know why a red blooded teenage boy would like that album art).
