Question about upgrading...

Hello everyone! I just have a question and would sure appreciate everyone's input. I believe that I have now reached the point that I am ready to upgrade from my T3 and was wondering what would be a good choice. As far as my budget, I'm looking at around $1200, possibly a bit more. I am most interested in the photography side than the video side. Mostly I will be doing portraiture, landscapes, and some sports photography. With that being said, if you could give me your thoughts as to what should be the camera to guide me through my next level of development as a photographer it would be great. Thanks in advance to all of you.

If I were you I'd wait to see some reviews of the just announced 70D. I'm sure this holiday you'll be able to pick it up for under a grand.

Yeah, the 70D on paper looks to be a fantastic value and clearly is going to be the best bang for your buck for a long time. It is in fact going to launch at $1,200.00

The only other thing to look at would be jumping to full frame with a 6D, but that's going to break your budget.

70D for sure, barring any issues with the initial production run.

I have been keeping an eye on the 70D. Kind of nervous about buying it when first released, but leaning that way.

^I wouldn't worry to much about it. Canon usually has very few issues with their first run models. I would however hold off for a couple months if you can though, as I said you can usually snag a great deal if you don't buy it right at launch.

Have you looked at the 6D? I think it would fit your list of photography interest. and your current lens line up would also work on a full frame. except the 18-55 kit lens of course.

Or the other zoom. (Or is that supposed to say 70-200?)
So two primes would work.

Yes, it should be 70-200. Thanks for catching that for me.

Yes, I have thought a lot about the 6D. It's a distinct possibility even though it is a bit out of my desired budget. I think it would be well worth the extra dollars.

My question would be what is it that your current camera isn't doing for you? Where do you feel like it comes up short?
