I love the 24-105 on a full frame body. On a crop I find that what you give up on the wide end you dont get rewarded for on the long end. Given that your used gear will hold its value until you sell to upgrade I wouldnt get the wrong lens based on the idea that you might upgrade at some date in the future. Its a different matter if you can say exactly when you are going full frame.

I still waiting for the good deal on 6D or 5D mark III, I try to get second part time job for weekend on photography.
Last week I got my first customer for Funeral, they pay me 200$.
I rent 24-70 L f2.8 for 35$, Costco Album cost 20$ come with 100 free picture, I give to customer 200 picture in album and 400 picture on CD.

It is fun to take picture and fun when customer happy about what I did.
At that day I find out I need full frame, the problem I cannot get full frame now because my pocket is empty.
I love this part time Job,.

The build quality of the 24-105 is a better, but the build quality of the 15-85 isn't bad. The image quality of both is excellent. If you are definitely moving to the 6D soon then get the 24-105. You will lose a lot on the wide end, but I think for Disney it will be fine. If you were taking very wide and expansive landscapes or cityscapes, that would be another issue.

I have a 15-85 and it is as good as L lens like others said. You can get a 15-85 for your body now and sell it together with your current bodies when you move to FF. 24-105L is not wide enough for cropped bodies.

I've recently just switched to a full frame sensor and the 24-105L kit lens that came with it was very useful for the type of photography that I do. Good range and the IS is very welcome addition. I find it not wide enough for landscapes though and the F4 is sometimes limiting for indoor shots.

Of course the angle of view at 24mm on a full frame is the same as a 15mm on a cropped camera. That's as wide as any standard zoom goes. On a crop one might need an UWA lens like the Canon 10-22mm. You could probably make us of the EF 17-40 L or for a faster lens the much more expensive EF 16-35 f/2.8 L.

Yeah, I have a 17-40 L which I use for landscapes, so it compliments very well with the 24-105.

Nice combo. When i go full frame that's my plan.
