Over a week ago we were walking in the Yorkshire Dales and I spotted a Little Owl on a fence post at the top of a hill. Going closer to try and get a shot only made it fly away onto a dead branch of a solitary tree. It left and returned to the dead branch a couple of times but flew away when I again tried to get nearer. I decided that I would return this weekend and stand behind a wall fairly close to the tree and wait to see if it would return. After waiting for over an hour it finally flew onto the dead branch and luckily it was facing me. After several shots I moved to try and get some different angles but this caused it to fly onto a different branch, but still within range, so more shots. Here are some from all the shots I managed to get. C&C welcome, exif intact

I'm envious. I love owls but they are so hard to find.
