Hi all, I know that there are other threads that pertain to where there is good spots in LA to shot but then I am not able to ask the questions I like to on those threads. First I would just like to ask if there is places to do night photography in LA and where abouts, I would like to go to the walt disney concert hall and then I heard about that spot on 4th or 6th street bridge. I wouldn't mind doing that but then don't know where to park. I will be there on Saturday so if anyone would like to join that would b nice.

Check out this thread. It has some great locations listed.

Also, there is no parking those bridges. You would have a considerable hike if you parked off of them. And... there are lots of undesirables walking /sleeping on those bridges at night.

So it isn't really worth going there at night alone huh?

I wouldn't say that. There are lots of places to go where there are lots of people and it is reasonably safe. Like most of the downtown areas where the Disney Concert Hall is.

I've spent most of my time in LA at night, alone, photographing it. It's a fantastic place to shoot. But, if you are going alone, I'd just recommend that you drive through the areas you are planning to shoot a few times before stopping. That way you know what and who is around. You just need to pay a lot more attention in order to stay safe, especially around those bridges since they are so secluded.

My problem with LA is that every time I turn up with a tripod, someone (LAPD, building security) tells me to go away. I know my rights but it's just not worth the hassle to try to argue.

But if you go, the DWP building, Caltrans D7 HQ, and Echo Park are pretty solid.
