I was looking for feature material at the Coke Zero, so I didn't shoot many cars. However, I thought some behind the scenes shots might be interesting for the photographers who don't have credentials and shoot from the stands or through the fences.

1. Just before the start of Sprint Cup qualifying

2. Wiring for a couple of cameras on top of the Nextel Tower

3. Checking Sprint Cup cars with templates

4. Next stop after templates, checking running gear measurements.

5. Viewing windows into each team's garage where fans can watch and get autographs.

6. The interview room with Carl Edwards, Jarrad from Subway and Bobby Allison.

7. A calm Victory Lane about 10 minutes before the end of the race. Kim makes the photo far more interesting.

Thank you for your comments.
Number 1 was shot with a 10-22 @ 10mm on a 7D, iso 200, f8 at 1/800.
Number 7, same camera with a 17-55 @ 20mm, iso 640, f3.5 at 1/60 with on camera 580 on ETTL with no compensation.
For feature shots during the daytime I prefer to carry a 7D with no grip and a 10-22, because it's the lightest rig I have found that will do a good job.
