
Dumb question but how are you guys getting such long exposures? Do I need remote trigger for that?
Set the camera to Bulb mode, and yes, ideally you would use a trigger.

Next time I do this I'll take a photo of the same scene without the glass for each image and then I can play around and try to match the WB and stuff. .

If you don't have a wireless trigger yet.....set up your shot then release the shutter with the two second timer. You release manually yet you're not touching the camera when the shutter opens. For example my lens takes 77mm filters, so I bought a 77-82mm step up ring and used that. .
