Hi ALL! What u would use for night shooting? Sorry - quite newbie at it: specs should be: the nice model, some local heritage spots like fountains or monuments, ambient light, tripod. Sometimes i used the 24-105 and the sigma 12-24, they are nice, but very dark, the results were i had to increase iso. 40mm pankake is often missing focus in low light. 50, 85, 70-200 F2.8 should be great for some closer portrait (and i'll "recycle" for live music) but i guess i'll lose some wider shot! The 24 is a great lens - but, for my style - and my actual gear, i'll save some bucks for a brighter 50 or longer 70-200 instead. So i was wondering at the cheaper 28 F1.8.. what do u think?

Ok....I have spent the last hour going though this thread...and now I am giddy...yes I said giddy. Two weeks ago my 1DMIIn and my Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 were stolen from my truck. Last night I ordered a used MarkIV, a new Canon 70-200mm 2.8 L IS II and a Canon 1.4X III Extender. Not sure if I have the skills as so of y'all ....but I know I will get lucky every so often. I can't wait to give it a go!!!
