Like the fact that they allow existing subscribers to renew at these same low prices.

I did a deal like this a couple of years ago and have been very happy with it. $9 got me three years of Outdoor Photography. I also receive Rangefinder too (free), which is another great magazine.

Good stuff.

I like Outdoor Photography and Shutterbug... other than those two I agree.

One gripe I have is most magazines just print a bunch of what appear to be product news releases without any editorial content. Then maybe a few marginally useful Q&A sections, maybe two articles with some actual meat. What I want are reviews, practical uses, does it work as advertised, is it worth the money, etc. not just product press releases filling up 25% of the magazine.

Another thing I can't stand is after they do a full review they say something like... "Is it worth it? Well, that's up to you..." No kidding... but maybe I'd like to know what you think too... Like Siskel & Ebert (RIP) thumbs up or thumbs down...

Sorry for the hijack...

p.s. If anyone ever sees Shutterbug on special let me know. Last time I only went to 1 year and times running out...

I totally agree. The 12 bucks or so that I pay for the UK mags are well worth it. At least I get 85% articles instead of 85% advertisments.
