OK, everything is fine.
LV zoom doesn't work, when the AF/MF switch is on AF position.
And of course, it doesn't matter what kind of lens you have.

Not sure if I'm missing something, but the zoom function in LV works the same on both AF and MF. Doesn't matter at all.

I finally bit the bullet and purchased the USB dock for this lens. I love the lens, but there are still subtle inconsistencies with the AF. It definitely needs MA up close and in most lightings, but then outdoors at further distances (and sometimes at close) it doesn't need any MA. I love the lens and despite a few misses here and there am getting fantastic photos out of it, so instead of sending to Sigma I figured I'd give the USB dock a go. If nothing else, this lens has me keeping a close eye on future Sigma lenses, and I figure the USB dock can be used towards those as well.

Good move, I think with any of their new lenses the USB dock will be a great addition to have in the arsenal. I do like having the option to fixing the problem before giving it back to Sigma. At least you don't have focus shift! :D

Did you have the chance to try out the usb dock yet? Does it solve the inconsistencies with the af?

I really love this lens, 95% of the time it doesn't leave my camera... Had to MA +7 and it is razor sharp. Really, really love it.

potential stupid question: How are you testing the sigma 35 for focus inconsistencies? Measuring a distance from the camera body and auto focusing, and them pixel peeping to see where the focus falls?

I bought this lens. No issues with focus what so ever.

the only issue I'm having is that sometimes focus "locks", as in - it stops focusing AT ALL, but all it needs is a second of manual focus rotation to get back moving. Doesn't happen too often and, while I know this isn't a good sign, the copy is insane sharpness/accuracy-wise, so I'd rather not have them mess with it, maybe closer to the warranty expiry date;)

had it set to "continue focus search", now I'm trying with "stop focus search". Had the same thing with the 35 on my 5Dc though.

*edit* - same thing on the other settings. It could be a voltage issue or something - seems to happen right after starting the camera the most often.

I've just got my Sigma 35mm F/1.4 yesterday. Found strange noise when holding/tapping/pressing bottom body of the lens. Please see my YOUTUBE video for more detail.
Please let me know if you encounter the same problem.
Thanks,
