I just ordered a second 5D, so during event photography I dont have to start switching lenses in the risk of missing good moments, plus a backup camera is really a must have on paid jobs.

the color one yes! and what is photo matrix? Sorry, im not familiar

Photomatix is HDR software - basically you take more than one exposure (3 is usually enough, but you can do more than that, or even 2 can get you the effect) and then you merge those images using Photomatix.

search on Google for "how to do HDR with Photomatix" or any other software if you are interested in doing it. There are plenty of tutorials out there discussing the process and method.

Would you still use 5Dc to shoot paid gigs?
My gear is in my sig and i'm thinking about letting 40D go. Would replace it with 7D or 5Dc... i could probably afford (just) a cheaper used 5D mk2 but i'd rather spend that money on more glass. I mainly shoot with primes and having both crop and FF would give me more options. I like the idea of that. I shoot people and landscapes mostly.

It is tempting way to go full frame and I just want to know if you would still trust an old 5D to shoot a wedding or similar gig.

of course you can. It just doesnt have the convenience of newer cameras, like auto iso/video/ect.

I shoot weddings with a 5Dc, as did the person who shot my wedding (and he has MORE than enough more to have whatever gear he wants) If it ain't broke, don't fix it! lol

Same, it's not my main source of income but it helps to justify cost of gear for something that is just a hobby.

And thanks for the replies. There's a few bodies on craiglist around here. Got to check them out :)
