Hi, how many of you use Camo cover for your lenses to protect from dust/scratches as well as to let the huge "white" lens blend in with nature ?

Also check out this English company. They are cheaper than lenscoat and have fantastic customer service:

I like mine, It helps keep the lens from getting dinged up. It's warmer in the winter to hold.

They are a pain to take on and off though. Mine stays on all the time. I feel a little silly at times when I go shoot the odd sport though.

Hi Mark, LensCoat has a dealer in South Africa http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za …cases-a-protection?page=1 (external link) as well as you can always order from them directly in the US.

Cheers.

Charles does this work on your 100-400? I notice in the photo the lens hood is tulip shaped. It's not the 100-400 unless you modified the hood.

Good eye! It works on the 100-400 but the 28-300 is the lens in the photo. The lens hood in the photo is a 100-400 lens hood modified for use with the 28-300 at 28 on a crop frame. The standard 28-300 lens hood was designed for a full frame and way wider that I wanted to use on a crop frame.

Got 'em on my 100-400, 300 2.8 and 500 4. Not for ding protection, but I don't want to spook the subjects any more than I have to before the flash goes off.
