Dumb question but how are you guys getting such long exposures? Do I need remote trigger for that?

Set the camera to Bulb mode, and yes, ideally you would use a trigger.

I just went down to the creek quickly, 200 seconds, ISO 100, F8. How does the WB look?

It's a darned lovely image, maybe a touch warmer? The water looks great but those trees look a touch too cool perhaps?

Now that i'm back on the computer it does look a little cool. Next time I do this I'll take a photo of the same scene without the glass for each image and then I can play around and try to match the WB and stuff.

If you don't have a wireless trigger yet.....set up your shot then release the shutter with the two second timer. You release manually yet you're not touching the camera when the shutter opens.

But you have to press the shutter to stop the exposure ;) Mind you the longer the exposure the less you will notice the shake... It will work in a pinch but I would recommend splurging on a trigger :p

Buy a cheap step up ring for filters and use silicone to attach the welding glass. For example my lens takes 77mm filters, so I bought a 77-82mm step up ring and used that.
