Great moment you got there Vix! Who's baby?

PS. Nothing beats the new baby smell. It's like the crack cocaine of pheromones.:lol:

It's one of my best friend's baby. I was waiting in the hospital lobby when mommy was like 7cm dilated and then couple hours later...WATER BROKE! I waited for like a full 5-6 hours before I got to see the little gal. Her Hawaiian name is Mailani but we all know we're gonna call her Mai for short. haha

I was surprised and kinda lost my cool with taking photos cause I was just like AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW the entire time. I'll be seeing her this Saturday for a in home photo shoot. :)

I hate to do this because your shots are always amazing, but you realize that pic is tilted Vinz? Maybe that was intentional or makes for a better composition or something I don't understand :)

i'm not sure. maybe it's the perspective of the building that's making it confusing? but i think you're right. maybe rotate a little to the right?

Thanks Vinz, this helps a lot; since I'm not accustomed to doing newborns..if any at all. I told the client that I'll need a window with natural lighting coming in and probably to clear out any stuff that might be in the way as far as backdrops and all that go. I'm like worried but at the same time pretty sure this will just make me melt. I'm probably going to lug my 35 / 50 / 85 just incase.

ljholloway photography is also a POTN citizen and she's a natural light shooter. most of her baby shots are lit by a window.

she's been using 50mm for infants. and now for really closeup shots she's using 100mm macro.

I just did a straighten using a grid on my PC, if you look at the light in the foreground, and the statue, and the line between the groom's shoulder to his hip, it actually needed a lot of rotation to the right (attached b/c you say it's OK to edit)..

Yup, baby pheromones. :lol::lol:

Usually babies look really ugly that early in life, but that kid is just perfectly adorable.

Your friend is lucky to have such a talented photographers there to take photos. bw!

I had to change the diapers for all 4 of my younger brothers and sisters. Lucky for me, all that baby poop clogged my susceptibility to baby pheromones and I just might make it through life not needing to have a kid (read financial freedom)

Kids are great though, I usually "rent" my nephew and niece when I need a fixing.

Personally, I'd say you've gone way too much to the right :/
I would go more by the brown rain-downpipe near the middle of the pic. The light at the bottom is probably crooked in real life. Just like the little palm fronds are suggesting that plant is really leaning to the right in the first place. So, again, I'm sure that a little adjusting until the downpipe is vertical is enough.

Nice shots Vinz. [as we're coming to expect ;)]

Yeah, it might be a little over, I was also using the statue in the back and both it and the light came vertical or pretty close to it at that point. It was a quick try with the windows live pic editor as it was all I had at the time :)

^^^Nice tilt-shift affect on that last one!

Obligatory sharpness and bokeh test -- I must thank Russ for this beauty of a lens.
