Here are some from the 4th of July fireworks in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My wife and I got there around 4:40 PM to get a good spot for photography. Rain and thundershowers threatened but we got lucky. It remained very cloudy and hazy but that combined with the smoke gave the images a different effect than I have seen in older fireworks photography I have done.

Best fireworks thread so far this year! I think a lot of it has to do with your great vantage point. Nice work! :)

Thanks! Yes the vantage point was a good one. I was there five hours early to get it.

Nice! I'm from Pittsburgh, and I always tell people that's the best place to see fireworks. So many good vantage points, the rivers, dahntahn... Makes for a great show :D

Thanks all! Pittsburgh is definitely a great place for fireworks, great places to view them and the city makes a nice backdrop. Pittsburghers love their fireworks.
