I turned over a fallen loquat leaf and found two katydid nymphs clinging to its underside. Siblings, I'm guessing, because they look the same age. I usually see just one of these at a time. Left, male; right, female.

After a minute of gentle disturbance due to my arranging the leaf for posing, both of them relieved themselves.

Warl0rd, you're right, the background doesn't help. Our yard is set up more for gardening than for photo-ing. When I find something like this, I take it to the potting bench and pose it in a hurry to stay ahead of the creatures that might get restless. I started out at BugGuide, where getting accurate images of specimens is the main goal; esthetics is way down on the list.
