This link with be a good start, I don't know your interests. Don't forget the Virginia Beach Boardwalk lots of people! The USS Wisconsin is a popular subject. There are numerous ships and planes about. Good luck!

What kind of shooting do you want to do? You could possibly catch some birding at the Botanical Garden (next to the airport), or hang out around downtown at night for some street shooting. If you're in Downtown you could catch the ferry over to Portsmouth. You could head to Sandbridge if you want to get some seascapes (that might be a bit of a drive though). Personally, having grown up here, it's just a whole-lot-o-boring to me, but catching the sunrise on the beach is always nice.
