yah - it is usable for sure. But I gotta say... I like the images with a 1.4x better. Of course these were mostly shot in the shade at ISO 1600 so they are going to suffer a little bit of detail loss there too. Direct sunlight at lower ISO's would have made for sharper images. With animals (fur and feathers) direct sunlight makes a wonderful improvement. Since I work as a portrait photographer sometimes I forget to look for sunny aspects :)

I'm using a set of Mark II teleconverters. I don't know if there is an optical improvement with the newer Mark III's

At our local "Cars and Coffee" gathering. First time out with the 200 and it certainly got a lot of attention, as well stimulating as a lot of good conversation.

I had to do it... Mount my 200 1.8 on my EOS-M... This shot had me pointing into the air at one of my high trees in my front yard. Hand held, this shot was tricky! Click image for better resolution.
