Yes I have shot both professionally and personally with almost all formats from very small 110 film cameras to 8X10 view cameras and a rangefinder for street work is absolutely the perfect tool. Also rangefinders with just a little practice with manual focus lenses are fairly easy to focus and I don't have the best eyes anymore and can usually nail focus even wide open. Much easier than with any autofocus lenses. I have been able to get shots that have happened so quickly being prefocused that no autofocus would have caught no matter what point I used. I only raise the camera to my eye when I see the shot starting to happen then just do a quick last minute check through the viewfinder for composition and then just push the shutter all in a fraction of a second. If you notice most of my compositions play a lot with the edges of the frame and to be pre focused is so much faster and way more reliable than auto focus in those situations.

Guess we have different styles (and tools). I've been shooting w/ RF's, and I'm enjoying it, but I'm using film. I can kinda sorta pre-focus, but unless I am taking really fast film w/ me, it's a bit of a lost cause. Been cloudy here lately, so I'm lucky if I can go up to F8 w/ ISO 400. I did get a little sun today, but tried out some ISO 50.

I did take a walk around your sandbox at the first of the month. I had about a day... well, a few hours is more like it. Would definitely loved to have had one more time. I was using my Zeiss Ikon. Even got stopped and asked how it was.
