Just got this lens.
I was ready for the worst in terms of focusing issues and learning curve. All my apprehensions were laid to rest as soon as I mounted the glass on my 5D III. In fact it seems easier to use at f/1.2 than my 135L at f/2. It is not as fast in focusing as the 135L, but good enough for people pictures.
Here are some quick shots:
f/1.2 and no MA

f/1.8 and no MA

The pictures can take some noise reduction. They also have a disturbing amount of purple and green fringing when viewed at 100%, but surprisingly, that does not seem to affect the picture in a bad way. The pictures look gorgeous with little effort.

So thanks to all of you for inspiring me towards buying this lens, despite a lot of bad press on focusing issues.

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, it's called chromatic abberation and can often be fixed with software. Lightroom for example has a slider to remove CA.

This is not the normal CA. Lightroom 5 has added special sliders for the purple and green fringing. That help to some extent, but sometime adds red fringes in the process.
