it's nice seeing all the new photos being posted! we haz a nice collection growing

I photographed the northern lights last night! It was amazing. It was faint and on the horizon but they were clearly there. I don't know if I've ever been so excited in my life to take a photo. When I get home this evening I'll up load it and show you guys, but I just had to tell you this morning. lol

^I like 3 & 4 and I can see what you're saying about the last one. I like the colors but feel like it's a bit over as well. Is the halo effect around the trees bothering you too? Other than that it looks natural and very pretty.

Ok here's my first ever Aurora shot. I know it's faint but keep in mind I live in West Central Illinois which is about 39.5 degrees north. Not exactly northern lights territory. I was so excited to see them for the first time.

Still pretty amazing. I wish I could even see as many stars as your picture shows her in OC.

I think it looks good IMA, just gotta figure out how to clean that center part ..how do you even focus for kind of shots like this? Just crank to f/11 and go at it center point?

I try to manual focus on a pole light of a farm house if I can. I shot this at f3.5 on my 18-135 to get as much light in as I can. I shot with my nifty fifty but it was a little too much reach.

**little off topic, what in the world is Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 & Adobe Premiere Elements 11? Is it a lower version to the big ol Photoshop ?

I've been peeking my head out of my igloo for over 40 years up here in Canada Land and have never seen it as good as your photo - congrats on the capture
