Just curious what is everyone's favorite lens are to capture those furry friends of yours? New to photography, I don't have a ton of lenses but I've been using my 60mm macro lens for dog pics as of lately. Lovin' it.

And on the rare moments when we can get our doggy to sit still, the 40mm pancake makes a very good pet portrait option! A camera, some glass, a left foot and a right foot.

Get a lot of crazy shots both ways! www.yipdogstudios.com

I only use one lens at one aperture (f/2) on a crop body. I love the perspectve, colors and working distance. Far enough away to not affect what they are doing but not so far that I lose contact with them. Leica 180/2 APO. Even though it is a heavy lens, no monopod or tripod, I have to be able to move quickly. Beffore I sold it I even tried my EF 135/2 out one afternoon. Not the same at all. I was too close, colors were not right, and a lower keeper rate even though I then had AF. Gene GEAR LIST
