Just picked up this beauty from an estate sale. It's a Piesker Berlin 250mm f/4.5 M42 mount. From what I hear, they are extremely rare. Image quality is excellent. If anyone has any additional information on this lens, please let me know!

QUOTED IMAGE

Cool lens... it's looks like stage 3 of a Soviet Soyuz Rocket... ;)

Not the best :) I am trying to learn how to use a 50mm Nikon Ai-S f/1.4. At the dinning table, my wife grabs two breadsticks over head, and I snap a picture. A razor-thin DOF. Have lots of training to do.

I've enjoyed photos taken with MF Nikkor, Contax Zeiss, Zuiko, Leica R, Russian on 5D2.

Helios 40-2
Nikon 50mm f1.2 AIS
Contax Zeiss 50mm f1.4
Contax Zeiss 35mm f1.4
Leica R - various but the idea of mirror shaving and mods make me queezy.
Olympus 50mm f1.2 zuiko
Olympus 50mm f1.4 zuiko

Wow! A lineup of great lenses. And yes, I am enjoying taking photos of people with the 5DII and manual lenses; just have to get better at it. For example, yesterday I forgot how to change the shutter speed with the camera on M. I had forgotten that unlike the 7D, the power switch on the 5DII has to be turned all the way up, not just to the ON position :)

This cute dog played with us in our more recent vacation at Copa Marina Resort. These were taken with my vintage Kiron 70-210 lens.

Very nice, Oscar!

I am assuming that once you believe the lens is in focus (the dog moving around), you take a burst of photos. Right?

I am wondering if I should buy these three lenses, which are in great condition, and quite cheap (under $100.00)?
The person wants $150.00 for a Maxum 700 that still works, plus the three lenses below:

Minolta 70-210mm MD ZOOM, 1:4
Minolta 50mm MD, 1:1.7
Minolta 28-85mm MD ZOOM, 1:3.5-4.5

Minolta lenses aren't the best for use on Canons...they require an adapter with its own lens...the best of those, pro model by fotodiox you are familiar with, is $50...I have one in case I find an unusual Minolta lens like a 50/1.2

But for the lenses you've listed, Nikon mount lenses are a better fit...the Vivitar MF Series 1 VMC 70-210/3.5, Nikon 28-85 AF are great on the Canon, and there are many 50mm lenses as good as or better than the Minolta...

^Minolta lenses don't play nicely with EF mount from what I recall.
