Yeah, that's a big selling point and probably why I'm going to hold off.

I'm in MA and I don't think I would have to pay tax. I should know but I don't.

I'm in MA too and you have to pay sales tax when you buy from Canon. I usually go through Mr Rebates and get 3% cash back which helps offset it.

That being said, I bought from Big Value when they had their first big 5D3 sale and had zero issues.

I've made one purchase from them and that will be the only one. Bought a Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS (so the description said). Price was only slightly lower than B&H, so figured it was legit. When I received the lens, I immediately realized it was the non-OS. Their CS was good and the return was smooth. But if you don't know or can't accurately describe what you are selling, I'm not interested.

Good to know. Thanks!

CLP is lower. But depending on your state tax might kill it.

I purchased my 5D3 from them back in September. No issues whatsoever, I'll buy from them again.

Purchased a 5D MKIII from them a while back. Gray market, no cards, foreign charger, and ZERO credibility with the BS stories they told when I called for explanation.
Buyer beware!

Had 3 friends buy in their earliest sales (black Friday and December) and they got US versions. Had half of the warranty cards, as in one part where it had the warranty terms and everything but not the one the end user is supposed to fill out. Canon doesn't ask for those anyway. US chargers, US everything.

Received the camera tonight. The shipping was fast. Two days. It came in a kit box, but is in untouched brand new condition. All accessories were included.

Only missing item is the (Warranty Card) To me its worth the savings. Overall, I'm satisfied.

I'm not sure, but believe that would not be possible. I believe some people have not had to send in the warranty card for repair, and some have.

I don't think you need a warranty card for repair, just the bill of sale or receipt. You should still be able to register your camera with Canon.

That would be nice, if anything were to go wrong. Just registered the camera. Thanks

Congrats on the new camera and I'm glad you received the accessories that are supposed to come with it. However, I still call foul on Big Value's sale through eBay. They state that a 1-year USA warranty is included. How are they going to provide that? It's deceptive advertising and deceptive selling on eBay. If they didn't mention the 1-year warranty in their listing, then it wouldn't be a deceptive sale.

I really do wish you the best of luck and I hope your camera doesn't experience any issues in the next year. Odds are you won't...I just hope the odds are on your side.

Bryan

they could have their own 1 year warranty, separate and apart from a Canon warranty, surely a sleazy maneuver, but technically true.
