Nice stuff. Looking forward to more. I've got roughly 2000 images to go through from the weekend's scale event. Any idea what the B 29 is powered by?

Thanks for looking. The owner was pretty popular so I never had a chance to get near him, but the plane was VERY quite as it flew, I was surprised. Even on it's high speed pass.

These are very nice! I especially like the angle on #2 & it's chipped paint look.

Here is a write up on the B 29. Lionel Weeks is the owner builder and it uses 4 stroke OS 91 engines.

What a model!!

It's a pleasure Mike.

If you look at the pic in the write up you will notice a few subtle differences.

ie.
The tip of the vertical stabiliser is yellow and there is an aerial from the front of the fuselage to the top of the tail.

There is also an additional antenna on the front fuselage. The write up is from around or before 2008 so there may well have been some mods.

There is also the possibility that the B29 you photographed is a copy of the original.

I couldn't source any additional information.:)

Thanks for trying. It would be a haul from down there to Iowa.

A most impressive B-29. Still not quite "Byron-esque" though for those who may recall the old "Striking Back" weekends... ;)

It was a great time, except for the 94 degree temps.
