Is your lens hood on correctly? It can cause heavy vignette if not seated correctly~~

I just got my copy, really nice lens! Are you guys getting major vignetting wide open? I find that it goes away at f4 (approximately). Normally, I'm a pretty big fan of post processing vignetting, but I think it might be A little too much for my taste. Will the dock fix this?

1.4 (especially on FF) will produce vignetting. the Lightroom lens profile corrects this in 2 seconds

You need to have the latest update for LR4 to have the lens profile. I have it in my LR4.

I actually thought it went away at f/2 but anyways some people have been mounting the lens hood wrong and been getting a nightmare of a vignette; was just making sure.

no prob. It is highly effective. Corrects the vignetting as well as the minor distortions.

Excuse me ...It might be it !!!

There still might be vignetting - yes.

But if the lens hood is not on, more vignetting is not going to be caused from that lack of a hood - no.

A misaligned hood can cause and increase in vignetting. The lack of a hood will not increase vignetting. Flare and such yes, vignetting no. A hood can potentially increase vignetting, that is why you use the correct hood for the correct lens. The lack of a hood can either lessen, or not affect the vignetting - not increase it.

Unless you are talking about reduction in saturation (in the same areas) because too much glare that is caused by too much light. Light that could have been blocked by the lens hood, then ok. But we know that is not what is being talked about here.

If you think it might, please enlighten me as to how! (Other than saturation vignetting)
